Before your first consultation
If you are a new patient, please come 5 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment time in order to fill out a patient registration form.
Please bring any recent letters or results given to you by your doctor, and a list of your current medications to your first appointment.
We always strive to run on time as much as possible—unless emergency situations occur which are unavoidable. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, or are running late, for an appointment.
Before your procedure – gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy
Changes in diet, medication and other instructions may be required before these investigations. Details will be discussed with you at the time of your booking. See FAQ page also.
Hospital paperwork and preparation instructions will be discussed at the time of your booking. It is important that you read this information, understand the procedure(s) and follow any directions given to you.
Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy have certain risks: there is a risk of perforation and/or bleeding especially if polyps are removed during the procedure, but this is very rare.
Intravenous sedation is given by an experienced anaesthetist for both procedures.
You will need someone to collect you after the procedures.
If you have any questions about the procedures, please contact our office on (03) 9871 4788.
